어제쯤부터 ATi의 홈페이지에 들어가보신 유저분들은 보셨을지도 모르겠다.
ATi에서 노트북을 위한 '워크스테이션급' GPU인 Mobility FireGL 7800을 발표했다.
데스크톱을 대체하는 고성능 노트북들의 잇단 출시와 함께 최강의 콤비를 이룰 수 있는 작품이라고 생각된다.
128bit 채널의 DDR SDRAM을 지원하는 유일한 모바일 GPU이며 데스크톱 제품에 쓰였던 HyperZ, HydraVision, 카리스마 엔진, 같은 기능도 그대로 갖고 있다. 한편 OpenGL에 최적화 되어 그래픽 관련 산업 종사자들에게 환영을 받을듯 싶다.
이외에도 2048x1536 (QXGA) 해상도를 지원하고 POWERPLAY!라는 자체적인 전력소모/성능 발란싱 기능까지 갖추고 있어 가히 최강의 모바일 GPU라 불리어도 손색이 없을듯 하다.
