AMD MPX chipset to launch next week

SOURCES AT A GERMAN distributor tell the INQUIRER that AMD's MPX chipset, an improved version for its dual processing CPUs, will launch next week.
Dual Athlon boards from manufacturers other than Tyan also have started to trickle into the channel, giving Asus, Microstar and Abit a bite at this sweet motherboard cherry.
AMD is, we understand, quietly pleased with the introduction of its corporate strategy with the launch of the dual system, and, certainly in Europe, has made some headway into the small and medium sized commercial market, as well as into education.
The sell is an entirely different proposition to its desktop and mobile processors, but if recent reports on Reuters are correct, AMD can also expect some of the "blade" server action from giant corporate player HP next year.
