Does ABIT KG7 / KT7A / KT7E supports AMD Athlon XP processor ?

According to an official information from ABIT website,

ABIT KG7 / KG7-RAID mainboard supports AthlonXP by just a BIOS upgrade.

ABIT KT7A / KT7A-RAID V1.3 also supports AthlonXP by just a BIOS upgrade.

ABIT KT7 / KT7-RAID / KT7E and all of the following verions of KT7A/KT7A-RAID V1.0/1.1/1.2 mainboard does not support the Athlon XP processor.

ABIT has updated the CPU model name in the updated BIOS for KG7 and KT7A rev 1.3. If you have not updated the BIOS, you can still use the Athlon XP by setting the following in BIOS.

AMD Athlon XP Processors SoftMenu III Setup -> CPU Operating Speed ->User Define
Multiplier Factor CPU FSB Clock (MHz)
1500+ 10 133
1600+ 10.5 133
1700+ 11 133
1800+ 11.5 133

With the settings, the AthlonXP will run correctly but it might not show the correct speed rating. The speed rating can be corrected upgrading the BIOS.

As for KT7 and KT7A old revisions are designed before AMD announced Athlon XP, there are not hardware compatible with these new processors.
